Three Locations
Villa del Grumello
Villa del Grumello
Lago di Como - Via Per Cernobbio 11, 22100 Como CO
The seventeenth-century Villa del Grumello is majestically overlooking Lake Como "pieds dans l'eau", only a few steps away from Como's city centre and surrounded by an extensive park, further elevating the stunning beauty of its surrounding nature.
Villa Grumello is located nearby the historic Villa Olmo, Villa Erba and Villa D'Este. The refinement of its rooms and the enchanting view make it historically one of the most privileged residences on the banks of the Lario.
Being owned by well-known families such as the Odescalchi and Giovio family, followed by the Celesia family with the beginning of the second half of the 1800s, that included illustrious characters such as Vincenzo Monti, Alessandro Volta and Ugo Foscolo.
The park of Villa del Grumello serves as its cultural and botanic heart by combining 15 hectares of secular parks between Villa Olmo and Villa Sucota, enchanting visitors with a unique synergy of nature, history and culture.
Villa Sucota
Villa Sucota
Lago di Como - Via Per Cernobbio 19, 22100 Como CO
Villa Sucota is an important venue for conferences and exhibitions and is also the headquarters of the Antonio Ratti Foundation. It has undergone various modifications and changes of ownership since its first construction between the 19th and early 20th centuries.
It was owned by Metternich, Napoleon's physician, and hosted Abbot Pietro Configliacchi, a student of Alessandro Volta, who began cultivating rare and exotic plants here. Nineteenth-century buildings were added to the original neoclassical structure. It houses a library of texts and documents on the subject of silk and textiles.
Villa Olmo Under Restoration
Villa Olmo
Lago di Como - Via Simone Cantoni, 1, 22100 Como CO
Built in the 18th century, Villa Olmo is one of the main symbols of the city of Como. One of the most famous and sumptuous historic residences in Como, it reflects the custom of noble families of the time to own a suburban residence. It is surrounded by a large Italian garden and is located along the lakefront path that, since the 19th century, connects the villas overlooking the lake from Borgovico to Villa d'Este in Cernobbio. In fact, the villa is located at the northwestern end of the city of Como, at the end of the lakeside promenade of the villas of Borgo Vico.
Mostra Helmut Newton - Cars
In the gardens of Villa Olmo, the Newton Foundation, together with Larusmiani, will inaugurate the exhibition Helmut Newton - Cars, on May 15, 2026.
The space will be transformed into an open-air museum featuring 20 photographic panels that, for the first time, celebrate the automobile in Helmut Newton's photography from 1956 to 2001.
Throughout his life, Helmut Newton maintained a strong passion for cars, incorporating them as early as the 1950s into his fashion photography as symbols of luxury and narrative devices.
Over time, he developed a distinctive style in which the human figure and the vehicle engage in a sophisticated dialogue, resulting in bold images charged with tension and allure.
In his work, the automobile transcends its role as a mere scenic element to become a protagonist—an iconic visual presence capable of expressing desire, elegance, and modernity.
